MARK V CAMPBELL, PHD
Dr. Mark V. Campbell leads the FCAD Forum for Cultural Strategies at Ryerson University and is Adjunct Professor at the RTA School of Media. Mark is a former Banting Postdoctoral Fellow, active D.J. and advocate for the Arts. His research interests include digital archiving, Afrodiasporic theory and culture, Canadian hip hop cultures, DJ culture and afrosonic innovations.
Founding Director at Northside Hip Hop Archive, Canada’s first national hip hop archive, Board Member with the Ontario Arts Council, committee member with the Toronto Arts Council, and advisory member of both the Music Den and the Allan Slaight Radio Institute. Mark has published widely with essays appearing in the Southern Journal of Canadian Studies, Critical Studies in Improvisation, Souls: A Critical Journal of Black Politics, Culture and Society and the CLR Journal of Caribbean Ideas.
